Pie de la Cuesta is a quiet little coastal town with good seafood restaurants, a beautiful white-sand beach, and famous sunsets.

Popular activities here include running the beach at sunrise, walking in the surf any time of day, or heading out for a deep-sea fishing trip.

Across the street from the beach, visitors can rent a boat to cruise Laguna de Coyuca, a fresh-water lagoon rimmed by lush vegetation that is home to a variety of birds, fish, and other animals.

For a change of pace, visitors can head out for the day to Acapulco, one of Mexico’s largest resort towns. A variety of water sports, artisans’ markets that sell fine arts and crafts from throughout Mexico, and daily cliff-diving performances are some of the attractions to be found in this vibrant city.
