Pie de la Cuesta is 10 kilometers northwest of Acapulco on Mexico's Pacific coast. Many major airlines fly into Acapulco's international airport. In addition, numerous deluxe and first-class buses depart daily to and from Mexico City. Once you arrive in Acapulco, getting to Pie de la Cuesta is an easy two-step process: First, take a government taxi to the town center, then take a taxi or bus to Pie de la Cuesta.

From the airport or the bus station, catch a taxi to the zocalo at the city center. A government colectivo taxi service runs from the airport to the city; buy a ticket before you leave the terminal (cost is approximately US $7). Taxis from the bus station to the zocalo cost about US $3. From the zocalo, catch a city taxi to Pie de la Cuesta. Agree on a taxi fare with the driver before accepting a ride. As of January 2007 cost for a taxi was 80 to 100 pesos. Feel free to contact the Villa Nirvana office prior to your arrival for current taxi rates.

Villa Nirvana's signs are clearly visible from the main road. Our access road cuts through another property and is well marked as shown in the photo to the right. Another Option: Local Bus For a less expensive option, catch a local bus on La Costera near the zocalo across the street from Sanborn's. The bus leaves roughly every 30 minutes from 6 a.m. to early evening. Cost is 4 pesos; buses generally only carry coin change, so be sure to have a small denomination (20-peso note or less) for payment. All Pie de la Cuesta buses are white with a green stripe and have their destinations listed on their front windows. "Pie de la Cuesta - Playa Luces" buses will bring you directly down to the front door of Villa Nirvana. Just ask the bus driver to stop in front of the hotel.

"Pie de la Cuesta - San Isidro" or "Pie de la Cuesta - Pedregoso" buses will bring you to the arched entrance to Pie de la Cuesta's main road, Avenida de la Fuerza Aerea.
